These little delightful sticks are easy to make and yummy in your hot chocolate or coffee depending on what you flavour them with.

  • 3 room temperature egg whites (very important that they are room temp)
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon of peppermint or almond extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar

Start whipping your egg whites slowly until they break up into tiny bubbles. Then add the cream of tartar. Mix for a few minutes until combined.

Slowly (1 teaspoon ) at a time, add the sugar beating for a few minutes between each addition. This is tedious but worth doing.

Once all the sugar is added whip until stiff and shiny…this also takes a bit. Then add your choice of extract. But not both.

Whip this until you can hold the bowl over your head with no fear of the egg whites falling out. And if they do, you might want to take up another hobby. Lol

You can add colour to them and pipe in lots of different ways.

Bake at 200 degrees for 1 hour and then turn off the oven and let cool.
